Word of the Day -- jeremiad

I don't remember ever encountering this word before today. (More later about the book where I saw it.) 

According to dictionary.com, it means a prolonged lamentation or mournful complaint.  From Jeremiah's Lamentations. Makes sense. I hope I don't have occasion to use it in conversation anytime soon.
